Applies To:

  • Revit 2008. May apply to other versions

Problem:

I want to automatically create a drawing list in Revit. For example I would like to display all my drawings for my project on the cover sheet.

Solution:

Assuming you have already created some sheets, Revit has an automatic drawing list feature built in. Navigate to the following pull-down:
View > New > Drawing List
A dialog box will appear. Select the fields which you wish to appear in your list. Some typical fields would be Sheet Number and Sheet Name. User defined fields can also be create.
A sheet can be excluding from a the list. Right click the sheet name in the project browser, click properties and then tick on for “Appears in Drawing List”. Likewise if a drawing is not displaying or showing up in the list it may be because of “Appears in Drawing List” is ticked off.
