Applies to:
- AutoCAD 2000
- Windows 2000
Problem:
When part of the Mtext is underlined, and the Mtext internal editor is used to edit the text, the underlining incorrectly extends to the end of the Mtext.
Reason:
The problem is caused by a DLL version clash in Windows 2000. Autodesk claims to have fixed the problem with AutoCAD 2000i Service Pack 2, there is no patch for AutoCAD 2000. This is caused by non-Autodesk, non-CAD applications. Autodesk is confident that installing AutoCAD 2000i Service Pack 2 really does fix the problem and that those people who reported it as existing in SP2 had not correctly installed the Service Pack.
Possible Solutions (in order of preference):
- Research where the DLL clash is and upgrade the DLL file if possible.
- Subscribe to a Autodesk newsgroup relevant to the issue
- Use DTEXT where we need underlining in a sentence
- Upgrade to AutoCAD 2000i Service pack 2
- set MTEXTED to an external editor and modify the {L l} tags
- Draw a line under the word
