Importing AutoCAD Color Dependant Details

April 19, 2008

By Allan, 18-April-2008

Applies To:

  • Revit Structure 2008. May apply to other versions.

Problem:

We have hundreds of standard details drawn in AutoCAD using the color dependant system. How can I imported them into Revit so the line widths show correctly?

Solution:

‘File > Import/Export Settings > Import Line Weights DWG/DXF

Here you can map a pen number line weight to a line weight in Revit. You don’t have to edit your old CAD files! Also read Importing AutoCAD old style SHX fonts into Revit
