AutoCAD File Extensions – Section 5 Plotting / Printing

A list of file extensions and what they are used for and what they mean.

.PC3

New for AutoCAD 2000, the PC3 is the Plot Control Parameter file. The PC3 file is the master control file for plotter configurations.

.PC2

For release 14, the PC2 is the Plot Control Parameter file.

.PCP

For before release 13 the PCP is the Plot Control Parameter file.

.CTB

New for release 2000, this is the color-dependent plot style table

.STB

New for release 2000. It is a named plot style table file. Contains plot styles and their characteristics.

.PMP

The .pmp file works in association with the .pc3 file. The .pmp is a Plotter Calibration file. One .pmp can be associated with many .pc3 files by using the .pmp setting in the device and document settings window.
