Offset polyline INTERNAL ERROR

June 1, 2002 Leave a Comment

Written by Allan, June 2002

Applies to:

  • AutoCAD 2000

Problem:

Sometimes when you offset a polyline AutoCAD crashes

Reason:

If you attempt to offset an old-style heavy polyline that contains arc segments and the plane of the polyline is not parallel to the current viewing plane, AutoCAD may crash with the message INTERNAL ERROR: !offset.cpp@312: eInvalidInput.

Workaround: Use lightweight polylines. Alternatively, make sure you view the drawing from a plan view with respect to the polyline before you offset it.
